Croom Concrete has supplied box culverts to P&D Lydon Construction for use in the manufacture of a bridge extension in County Limerick.

The purpose of the culverts which were installed was to widen an existing masonry bridge and to change the direction of the river. This was achieved using a splayed culvert which had one side at 1.4 metres in length and the other at the standard 2 metres. Croom also manufactured a head wall for the job in Balingarry, County Limerick. The culverts were installed in under two hours and were said to have supplied a simple solution to a complicated problem.
